Has anyone else here noticed this board is going to shit? Pic related is a small fraction of stupid & shit threads that plague this board near constantly. Because of that this place is just as bad as reddit now, maybe even worse (just for different reasons).
How does shit like this get passed the radar? Are all the jannies constantly asleep? And WFT are the mods doing? Is anyone from the users here even trying to keep this board high-quality like before?
I dont mind contributing to the quality of this board, but I am only 1 man - I dont have the time & energy to respond 1000 times to a stupid thread with "sage" to make it die faster.
I know the "report post" button, but it clearly discourages reports because it states that reporting WILL get me banned ("Submitting false or misclassified reports will result in a ban"). For example, if I report a post/thread for being "off-topic" or "extremely low quality", (which is the case with most problems on this board) and the staffer reviewing it disagrees with me (because "muh free speech" & "muh laissez-faire model of this site"), I get banned, correct?

1) how do I know if the staff see my report the same way I do and remove the trash thread instead of banning me?
2) how do I contribute to increasing the quality of this board without frequently using the "report" function (I dont want to get banned) or using sage multiple times (no time for that)?
3) why do you, anon, not contribute to keeping this board high-quality by reporting trash threads? I am sure there are many others here like me who wish to have this board as a place of high-quality scientific & intellectual discussion and are willing to put in at least some work into it.
