Is Ramanujan the most overrated mathematician of all time? I always assumed he must have done some important work because of how hyped up by normies he is but apparently he spent most of his time coming up with a bunch of meme identities that don't have much application beyond someone looking at them and saying "huh, that's neat". Did he do any fundamental, impactful research at all? From the way people talk about him you would think he was at the same level as Turing or Kolmogorov.
