No way, I don't know about the exposition as much, but the problems are objectively better. D&F had problems that were too easy and would lull me into a sense of security for exams.

That's true about the problems but that's the only advantage Lang has on D&F.

D&F is relentlessly clear in terms of exposition and covers approximately the same content as Lang. Lang's book is of course more in depth but there's really no point in it's comprehensiveness since once you've read D&F you can easily go on to read books on specialized topics in algebra.

Well yes D&F is very clear. Maybe a bit too much, the proofs often give literally every detail also.
Anyway, I like both books, I used both in my courses, however now I only ever look at Lang so it has lasted me the longest.
Topics in Algebra by Herstein has great problems too by the way.
