No, we're not anywhere close. I'll be impressed when we can throw an agent into minecraft tabula rasa and it naturally learns the games mechanics. Right now can barely cut down a tree even though it's processed 16 mil frames of that action.

It can't be the future because statistical modela as they are are too inefficient
They need millions of examples to figure out what a sign is, whereas a child can be given a single example of a sign, and from only one example figure out other examples of things which are also signs
