Most insane of this all is that he did all of this from the couch while watching TV shows. He didn't like working so he did most of these inventions out of leasure/boredom and not conviction. Which makes him probably the smartest person in history.

While Neumann was literally a machine which could think logically the genius of Einstein is unsurpassed in his thought experiments and creativity that gave birth to Relativity. Logic can get you from A to B but creativity will get you anywhere.

Einstein is known for having said that Von Neumann is the only person he knew that he couldn't follow in train of thought. They had some friendly rivalry through their entire careers though so Einstein didn't admit this until Neumann got diagnozed with cancer.

I honestly don't know. Von Neumann is never mentioned in basically anywhere at all. The only way you'll run into him is by actually reading about scientists, specifically the smartest men that have ever existed, or game theory etc. in practice. But I think it's about the era he was in. Everything back then was overshadowed by Einstein, WW2, and the manhattan project. Despite the fact that Einstein wasn't even in the same league as Neumann. Though even he admitted that his raw computational power, insane memory and general intellectual ability was, with regards to its genius and innovation, second to Einstein's.

After Gödel presented his first incompleteness theorem at a conference von Neumann was at vN independently discovered the 2nd incompleteness theorem and went to show it to Gödel, only to discover that Gödel had already sent it (2nd incompleteness theorem) in for publication. Although yes I remember reading vN was disappointed he never discovered something as great and important, especially since it was within his intellect to do so, although tbf he ended up spending a bunch of time on applied mathematics rather than pure mathematics once he was in his 40s and onwards

He also was pretty much used by the military industrial complex, ALL his research was heavily involved with the US military complex.
