Often times, individuals with Tourette's have motor idiosyncrasies that 'normal' people do not possess; however, as they get older they start to learn about their syndrome and the stereotypes associated with it, and one being swearing loudly. I would imagine they adopt this feature simply because it is 'indicative' of their ailment, and it also let's others know that they suffer from it.
