>>12945607>Are there unironically people who believe that 'race' is just a 'social construct'?The reality often gets lost in the narrative- journalists interview scientists about research and spin the shit completely sideways because daddy new corp says so.
Don't ever trust news media to report anything- imagine telling an airhead low-IQ person your research and expecting them to faithfully reproduce it in a dumbed-down version
Our lab got interviewed recently about something super simple, and we spelled it out clearly and in plain english, the everything from the title to the wording was completely wrong.
Race is a social construct. Geographical hereditary differences are not.
They are two different things.
This is not disputed in the science world.
It's the same with sex and gender.
I work in neuro/cell bio crossover lab, and the way everything is reported is as such:
sex is the biological chromosome arrangement you were born with
gender is the socially constructed thing you call yourself.
Although previous reports used gender/sex interchangeably, due to the shift in social discourse, you'll see that everyone is going to be reporting the sex of mice, and the stoppage of the use gender.
Simple. Easy. Literally has 0 impact on the science.
