Science can't even predict the weather tomorrow yet Christians predicted 9/11 and B.1.1.7's emergence before either of those events ever happened.
And on top of that...
When Jesus came to Earth to be crucified around 0-30 AD or so, that was the proof, and people drew their conclusions from that proof.
And then several other people with faith also believed, much like science, many scientists have confirmed the existence of the higgs boson and that was the proof, but many others believe in it but have not actually seen the higgs boson themselves. Once again, they are trusting it.
No man can simply see everything and confirm every study for himself. That's why it's a genuine fact that 2% of scientists admitted to falsifying their data in studies and getting away with it too. Science sometimes requires trust, most modern experiments cannot be reproduced to yield the same results.
Most of the media both liberal and conservative will jump to a conclusion and then look for evidence to back it, like Chauvin's Trial or Flat Earth. They create a conclusion and then endlessly enforce it and deny anything that hints against it.
There is a war on science being lead by politics and corporations.
