How to Save the Planet

It's obvious to non-brainlets that our planet is suffering due to human-made pollution and global warming. One of the largest contributions to carbon emissions is livestock farming, if everyone agreed to eat meat only once per week or adopt a vegan diet we could almost instantly cut our carbon emissions in half. This would also alleviate the devastation caused by commercial fishing on our oceans. But it seems that these "save the planet organizations" only want to focus on marginal changes like "don't use plastic straws!". Why is the message "REDUCE MEAT CONSUMPTION" not being broadcast more loudly and widely?
