>>12940066I feel the same way. It's not even that I hate asians, because I don't. I'm much more critical of Israelis, but I'm still willing to read their papers. Something about Chink scholarship is completely off putting though, and I don't even want to engage with it - and the impression that I get from most chink students and professors, is that they don't really want to be bothered either, and they'd rather keep to their own little community of Chinese students and professors. I don't see this with anyone else, Indians, Jews, Eastern Europeans, etc.. They're all part of the department and part of the community, but the Chinks seem like they want to be isolated. I know a lot of Chinks pursuing advanced degrees probably have connections with the CCP, and I know the CCP is really insular and secretive above its motives and activities, and they're skeptical of internationally minded Chinese folks, so I unironically think it might have something to do with CCP oversight and the Chinese intelligence community, but I have no idea.
