I spent most of my life being a skeptic, thinking knowing things was impossible and tentatively living in a world of probabilities. To make assertions i thought was foolish, because nothing can be known.
When one is a skeptic there is a certain peacefulness to it. You adopt one way of thinking or world view which seems useful to you, to orient your actions and assumptions, but there is no commitment to it and you can entertain it being entirely wrong and replace it with something else.
Its wrong to do this.
If people were immortal and had eternity to wait maybe this would be alright, but at the end of the day it is action and conflict which brings resolution. You must pick a worldview and simply go for it, all in. There is no way you are ever going to come to a resolution on your own, you must struggle against others, violently if needed, until the truth arises out of the conflict.
To be sure youre right is still stupid, but you must act that way.
