Before taking simply keep your focus and conscious awareness on the language, behavior, and memories that you identify as detrimental to your general stability or that are blocking your progress. If you are a focused individual it will work, if not then I would recommend setting some alarms to go off periodically that includes a popup of shit you should be focusing on. Engaging in this fashion helps remove shit that seemed impossible and you can also have alternate sessions where you enhance yourself by focusing on the positive memories you wish to make and/or language and behaviour outcomes you'd like to experience in the future. The caveat for the positive approach is you need to have discipline to recognise when your brain is going explosively positive and reign it back in so your brain can actually explore functional pathways without too much imagination overwriting your reality.
It results in some serious fast editing without any of the freaking out or feeling like you've left anything important behind.
