Why are males usually older than females in heterosexual realtionships? Does it benefit the species? What are the disadvantages of a young boy/mature lady relationship

There are different benefits and drawbacks to the various forms of mating systems and sexual dimorphism. This is depended on the environment that the species lives in like basically everything in evolution.
Obviously in the modern era and in highly technocratic societies, small males are superior to large ones in all ways that matter, and large females are superior to small ones in all ways that matter. So we will engineer the species to be this way in the next few years. By 2035 or so there will be only small males and large females being born. While this isn't exactly straight shota its pretty close so whatever.

I only like people that are the same age as me, but it's true most men like girls that are younger than them and most girls like men that are older than them.

If you are not braindead you'll notice this strange trend.

I actually hate it, because the norms don't conform with my own preference. I like women that are the same age as me, but when I was in high school all of my peers were attracted to older men that were in college etc.

It sucks.
