I tried reading it but it was all way over my head (I'm a numerics guy with virtually no background in abstract algebra or topology). Anyone read it and understood it yet? What's the take?

How can I get to a level where I can understand this?

I took basically every undergrad physics course, including 2 QM courses and GR. I took some analysis, and all differential equations course and all algebra courses.

I don’t know any topology and I’ve never taken differential geometry. Do I need those? Or QFT?

I started reading through it and it feels almost within reach.

To clarify my question, when he defines early on in his paper things like X^4 manifold to C^inf or something, I don’t understand things like that. What would I need to read in order to better understand. Happy for it to take a year or two, I’d just like to get a better understanding of grad level physics.
