DIY Biology and Biohacking

No.12930792 ViewReplyOriginalReport
I'm looking for any and all resources on having biology as a hobby from building a home lab to biohacking. I've included some of what I've found so far below. Anything from wikis to forums to shopfronts is appreciated.

We're on the cusp of new technologies in biology like CRISPR and Oxford Nanopore that make it cheap enough for your average dumbfuck with an interest in biology to culture and sequence cells and augment themselves. Most scientific articles can be accessed using Sci-Hub, but articles are often written in dense, fart-sniffing language intended to get into Nature, not be easily read by an audience. I get the need for precise language when required, but some things are better communicated with simple language. Wikis and forums are useful to supplement this and to show how to run a small lab practically. Biohacking and augmentation seems to be in its infancy and a little dangerous, but I'd like to implant an RFID chip in my hand some day. It'd be great to find a community dedicated to this type of stuff.
