please help me /sci/, I don't know what to choose

you guys spoon fed me parablolas/differential eq. and magnetic wizardry knowledge and I really zoomed through life thanks to this place.
But now I'm just sitting here, graduated but lost, bunch of highly grade papers on the floor... I feel nothing. How did I manage be so autistic that I didnt make any friends to help me with this? I can only brainstorm generic hints of what I was thinking about pursuing but, god knows if I'm speaking plain combodian with strange thoughts I can muster together..
I think I like computers , but who the hell doesnt? I'm almost ashamed to admit it...
Physics, Math specializing or something like mechatronics seems like the easy way and they are already choosed to death. I'd rather go computer/software engineering or even go hard into computer science.
I think biology would be nice especially developing human-computer interactions in a high level of biotech and neuroscience, also double major in different fields is very possible here to pursue that idea.
Finance is very interesting especially to learn managing big companies and businesses as well communicating with people, I've been reading up on blockchain development along with the finance of
cryptocurrencies and to me building a double major pursuing that idea together would be nice(imo)
If medicine is just playing Anki cards and hanging out in /med/ I would unironically pursue that becoming an irl healer actually sounds amazing.
yet with all this noise should I unironically take the jesus pill and do some carpentry instead? I've read a lot of stories about people switching from stem and becoming a based tradie.
I don't want to be a God or something I just dont want to end up in the streets and maybe do some good in the world and hopefully get rewarded for years of skill building and pain.

trades are mentally low effort, but hard on your body, and they take their toll after decades unless you move up to owning a business, but your life will be defined by that, more or less. i was in a trade for over a decade and now i'm at university pursuing interests becasue i got to a point where i would rather kill myself than continue the life i was leading. i'm not too concerned about making a lot of money though.

you seem very young. i dont know how university works in sweden, but generally first year units are pretty broad and you don't have to choose your specialisation right away, the only distinction really being stem/med/law when you're starting out.

as far as i can tell, hard sciences like physics and maths don't really have a lot of job options, whereas software related stuff does. biology seems to go nowhere unless you specialise in biotechnology.
finance is an obvious one, but be aware that the people you'll be dealing with are mostly psychopaths, especially when it come to big companies.
like i said, you still seem very young and without much life experience, so what you're going through is pretty normal. do you have an option to take a year off before university to work a bit, see how your interests develop while you're in the "real world"? note that you'll have to move away from your parents place to experience this.
alternatively just choose something and dive headlong into it while living with your parents and come out with a degree in your early 20s ready to make money and pursue a career.

this is what I intend to do, I just wanna become very elite at something while I can afford to strain myself physically and mentally undergoing potentially double majors and holding a job as well for rent and food.
But I actually realized that I'm putting a away up to 5-7 years potentially towards something that could completely prove to be useless in the real world with no real application.

I understand then the trades are not worth the hassle so I will put off to the side for now, thanks for detailed post anon.

Teknisk Fysik at KTH is the most mathematical/physics based program in our uni. I didn't go that I went Samhällsbyggnad, but I do know people from that program and they are quite bright and nerdy, some of them browse 4chanz so I'm sure you could easily make friends there. I am taking a class in montecarlo analysis with them right now and they're a good bunch

True, but they had better figure it out before they commit to a degree.
It would be far better that they take a year or two off if they need to soul search than it would be to commit to a degree that gets them to a field they don't really want to be in. Spend four years paying to learn a skillset that traps you in a place you don't want to be?

I agree with you to a certain degree but I don't think you will ever 100% know what you wanna work with, and you will never end up working with exactly what you wanted to 5 years ago unless you become a doctor or something specialized like that.
Just as an example, you might know you enjoy physics and maths, but you don't know if you want to design things, do research, economical stuff and so on. In that case it's fine to just go for something instead of waiting around a year imo

tonnes of places want to hire mature people with life experience and a goal to stay with the company long term to save for a house or whatever. there are risk factors to hiring 20 year old who haven't had a gap year or left their hometown because all they've done is study.

Who says you have to go at all? Saddling yourself with debt and hoping for the best just for the sake of *muh degree* doesn't seem wise. If I charged you for every step you take to get across a room would you wander aimlessly until you decided on a path? Of course not, degrees cost real money and have consequences. If you don't have a plan in mind get one as quick as possible and don't go down a path unless you're at least reasonably sure it's where you want to end up.

Hey, almost in same boat as OP, but i started medschool (first year) and now feel like it isnt all worth it, because not that interesting and very long study time ( EU, 6 Years + residency), so i'm thinking of quitting and applying to engineering.
Any recommendations for type of engineering and some reasons?
I think i'd find mech engineering the most interesting

I'm in 4th year civil engineering. It's a quite wide field, I'll give you some examples of stuff you can specialize in and work with
- Geoengneering. As I understand this it's mostly used for big infrastructure projects and skyscrapers
- Water and resource management. Designing pipes, water treatment facilities, storm water drainage. Possibly dams but I think you could work with dams as a geo-engineer or structural engineer aswell
- Structural engineering. Designing buildings and big facilities, skyscrapers, bridges. This is by far the most maths and physics intensive, my friend is taking those courses.
- Traffic engineer. I also have a friend that is taking those courses. Railroads, highways, urban planning in terms of redlights and stuff like that.
- Building physics/installations. This is what I'm taking. Fire and hazard safety in buildings, design of ventilation pipes, water pipes, thermal comfort (insulation, windows and so on). This is somewhere between architecture and structural engineers

From having read forums and talked to real life civil engineers, the pay is quite bad compared to other engineering branches like CS, EE and so on. So if you are interested in pay don't take this. Only pick civil engineering if the thought of planning and designing the built environment interests you.
What I also know is that it is quite easy to get public work instead of private, and that has it's benefits aswell if you aren't super interested in a well paid but stressful career and just want to chill at some municipal office
I've always been interested in architecture but also maths and physics so what I picked feels good and I'm enjoying the studies so far
