Why doesn't head hair have a maximum length, when every other body-hair has? Is there any other mammal that has similar fur/hair?

It has a limit though. Hair falls out constantly, but it's in cycles. Your hair is taking turns, some is on your head right now, while the rest is taking a nap. But eventually all hairs complete the cycle, usually after 3 years (sometimes longer), and that's when the hair length plateaus

It has a limit, that limit is when it becomes to heavy to walk or do anything else to survive.
If no limiting factor appears, its length is limited as function of your life span.

Oh but it does. I don't know a single person who has managed to grow hair longer than 5 feet.
