1. Invent some new fancy disorder.
2. Deliberately make its description as vague as possible. "Can't concentrate" "May have trouble doing X"
3. Tell people or parents that the person/their child suffers from such an ailment based on an evaluation of the child that deliberately excludes its environment and the impact it could have.
4. Exaggerate the impact this illness will have on the life of the child, thus forcing people/parents to act before it's too late.
5. Find a treatment that allegedly improves the condition of the person/child. No actual proof for such treatments needed. If insurance companies/politicans start asking questions about the efficiency of the treatments, bribe them or simply lobby in congress.
6. $$$

Also, a nice side effect is the creation of a perpetual, genetically diseased under class.

Not psychiatry but the psychology treatment I tried to get seemed to be designed around women honestly. Nothing wrong with it, just saying. Although I guess it’s wrong in the way treatment should be for everyone.
My male therapist also mentioned multiple times he mostly treated women. And most therapists there were women. He didn’t really seem to get what I was trying to get at and just followed a learned pattern of trying to fix my thought pattern in the same way he tried to fix all of his other patients, with stuff like calendars and what not.
I just stopped going and tried to fix myself by reading and doing self therapy exercises. TRE has been an immense help too when I get this sort of overreacting and overwhelming feeling and spasms from my childhood abuse. It sort of cleans me out for a time. Doing self therapy was hard though since I’d just break into crying multiple times as I found terrible memories I had forgotten.
