As I recall, the lotka voltera equations can be made to loosely fit a predator prey relationship. Basically if the number of predators rise, the prey populus will attenuate, and possibly go extinct entirely. Therefore, I'd wager that there exists an upper limit to the lethality of a virus, after which it would be unable to successfully propagate.

That being said, I've zero background in virology. So idk.

As I previously mentioned, I have no background in biology or virology. But, didnt these viruses kill very few people overall? So by my own logic, they proved too lethal to efficiently propagate.

Perhaps I didnt phrase my point adequately. My appologies.
