>>12920222The core isn't actually ice, and while the polar caps and subsurface ice account for probably five million cubic kilometers, when melted it could only cover Mars in enough water to form shallow lakes. I haven't done the math or anything but I'm not certain this would be enough ice on it's own to give Mars a breathable atmosphere.
