Okay, I feel like a brainlet. If all you need for generating an electromagnetic wave is alternating current, and if an RLC circuit requires an AC power source to make it behave like an LC circuit, then what's the point of even having the RLC circuit here? Why can't the two rods be connected directly to the AC power source?
