>>12928598I assumed you were capable of extrapolating my points and completing the thought process, my bad, I guess. Do you have any clue how fucking long it would take just to get to the next star, which most likely does not have a planet with water, a breathable atmosphere and a significant magnetic field? It requires a part of humanity completely cut off from the rest of humanity to survive autonomically for decades in unlivable conditions. Testing if we can do it on Mars is a huge step towards that goal, with some extra goodies of checking for and analyzing previous or current life on it.
Again, you are focussing on an insignificant example to argue your point. I’m not necessarily worried about Russia, fucking Kenya or USA can decide to start dropping Nukes, it doesn’t fucking matter, the point is it is a threat to humanity.
I have already acknowledged the additional threat of the west collapsing due to immigration, but you have failed to provide any way how some extra cash and some scientists’ time would resolve that problem.
People deciding to stick their dicks up some dude’s ass is certainly no threat to humanity, neither is people not believing in your arbitrarily chosen religion. People have done that for millennia.
