They have over a 100 million people who mostly live in insanely crowded cities and are super reliant on public transit, yet they had less infection cases than much smaller countries. Their death rates from it are one of the lowest even though they have an aging population with effectively a third of their population being in the vulnerable group. They also didn't go crazy with lockdowns.
