If FTL was possible particle accelerators would have managed it for particles. Obviously the “FTL” really is just the usual warp drive and wormhole stuff.

Yes, it's impossible. This is definitively ruled out by SR, and consequently in GR as well. FTL in an asymptotically flat background allows you to go back in time, simply by travelling faster than light in one frame, and returning to your starting point in a booted frame. That allows you to do obviously stupid things like kill your grandfather before your parents are conceived.

There thought to be some very limited nonlocal phenomena in quantum gravity. But yes, FTL travel or communication as imagined in sci-fi is impossible.

However, if you want FTL in your fiction then the least unphysical approach seems to be to violate the "no special frames" postulate of relativity and assume a special frame of reference for the purposes of FTL travel. This could result in FTL but no time paradoxes. See here:

If FTL was possible than time travel would be possible. Any logical person would use this to help Hitler win WW2. Hitler was not successful therefore FTL is not possible.

technically you can use a black hole to catapult you faster than light but it has to be done right.
there is a zone in spinning black holes that has energy spinning faster than light, if you surf in that zone, you can take that energy and then catapult yourself with that energy.

No, relativity does not say that objects can not move faster than light, it says that it would require an infinite amount of energy to do so.
So it is not impossible, it's just not possible whatsoever.
