Alright /sci/ please explain to me why transitioning from man to woman is a good idea? Why is society really uppity when you question transexuals creating propaganda for youth?

Why are the progressives going out of their way to protect those that are mentally ill when they end up committing suicide or becoming pedophiles? Why are progressives going out of their way to create propaganda to influence the youth by treating transitioning like it's the new iPhone?

What is the science behind this bullshit and how can we convince the progressives that transitioning is an expensive, psychological and physiological process that leads to suicide majority of the time.

Transgender people exist because of gender dysphoria, a mental condition in which they feel intense distress with their birth sex and sex characteristics. The treatment for this is transitioning and social acceptance. When these two factors are combined, transgender people report mental health basically on par with the general population.

Just saw this happen today, had some broader questions about transitioning/anime/communities:

My questions are:
1) Is this actually pretty common? This isn't the only instance I've seen of someone who's really into anime ending up transitioning (happens a lot with software developers as well).
2) If it is somewhat common, what is the causal relationship, if any? Is it people who are interested in anime transition because of anime (e.g. the associated community, etc.), or is it the other way around, as in people who are uncertain about transitioning end up getting interested in anime for some reason and then transition regardless. Or no relation at all?
3) Many people who have transitioned have anime pfps (at least from what I've seen). Is this a relic of them getting into anime before their transition, or more because they want to identify as looking like a more "realistic" cartoon of a female? (Or is having an anime pfp an anomaly for a person who has transitioned?)

And finally, a bit more generally:
4) Certain communities seem to have higher percentages of people who have transitioned. Two such communities I think of are computer programming and video games. Is this actually true, and if so, why? Is it network effects (a lot of people who have transitioned are already there), or something about the hobby itself (e.g. attracts certain types of personalities)?

There is no science. Any and all scientists and medical professionals have been blackmailed and threatened to shut up.

This is about making money. The LGBT lobby is the biggest money maker in the Western world. The surgeons who do these operations are some of the highest paid in the industry.

It doesn't make scientific sense to dump heavy metals into rivers when you could recycle them, but it makes economic sense even if the occasional broken victim sues you.

1-2) I wouldn't say it's common. Trans people are generally more likely to be social outcasts, so they're more drawn to "outcast communities", with anime being a big one.
3) It depends on the person in my experience, but often times it's a little of both.
4) Basically already covered this but to expand a bit, a lot of trans people don't like how they look, so hobbies/interests/careers where you're not required to physically be around people much tend to attract them. Could also be an autism factor, I know that autism and gender dysphoria are actually highly comorbid, with something like 25% of trans people being in the spectrum. The theory I've seen for this is that both gender dysphoria and autism are caused by hormonal imbalances in the womb, and so often occur together.

Women are more likely to be accepted into college, more likely to be accepted for a job, make more money (as long as you’re a millennial or younger), less likely to be victims of violent crime, receive less harsh prison sentences for the same crimes, have more socially acceptable clothing options available to them, have greater social capital, and are less likely to commit suicide than men are.

I’d have to see trendy commercials encouraging transition on every tv station to take this seriously. The only ads I’ve seen are those encouraging acceptance of trans people within our society.

I know you guys like to spam photos of SRS for shock value but it's not an actual argument. All surgery is gross, what the fuck did you expect? Sometimes guys who take viagra and get erections for more than 4 hours have to have surgery on their penis, that doesn't mean it's "mutilation" or should be banned just because it gives you the chills to think about.

Gender Reassignment Surgery from $140,450k to 200k
Hormone pills cost $1,500 a month

Facial Feminization Surgery $25,000-$60,000

These surgeries are extremely custom to the individual so the price changes vary on the individual and it's not fucking cheap.

This really only applies for SRS. All of the other operations (FFS, breast augmentation/mastectomies) can be and mostly are done by regular plastic surgeons.
