So, in a vacuum you wouldn't be able to see it? Also these reflected light particles wouldn't cause harm to your eyes?

1) yes in vacuum you can’t see a beam unless at the termination point.
2) photons bouncing off particles in the path are illuminated, nothing like the concentrated stream that a dangerous beam would contain.

Deflection from particulates is very different than reflection from a mirror or reflective surface, seeing the deflection from particulates is a small amount of photons that get bounced off. If it was a direct REFLECTION it'd be different IE reflecting the beam off a mirror or glass into your eyes
