What I mean is this? Say a guy is gong to become a physicist. He wont start training to become one until he is 18 in college. The school process hardly does him any good besides the math classes that he likely could go through faster if he didnt have to follow the same pace as the entire school.
You can look at other fields to see how people who become the best end up being the best. When it comes to an intellectual activity like chess, the people who are the top in the world all started seriously playing chess as kids. It would be unheard of for them to have started playing serious chess at 18 years of age.
So dont you think it would be better for those inclined and with the ability to start off training for a scientific career earlier in life?
