Should I lie to my little brother about the existence of God and heaven in order to help him cope with his schizophrenia and depression?
His quality of life is pretty poor and he is always saying things about how he wants to die and how he was screwed out of a normal life. Even on his meds, he's still strange and off.
I want to tell him that when he dies and goes to heaven, he will be normal and healthy and spend eternity in happiness and bliss.
I know this isn't true, but I literally cannot think of any other way to make him feel better. Is this wrong?
I will take him to church and reassure him his illness is only temporary and heaven will be his shot as a good existence and life.
