I was thinking about that, I am gonna install it on my work computer tomorrow.
I used gimp before but it was too much of a pain in the ass.
I was thinking that the author might have used photoshop or something like that, but I have never used it.

gimp is for raster graphics, not vector graphics. you don't make figures raster graphics unless absolutely necessary
