Most people don't take those units, they are elective units taken only by autists (i took them). Core maths, which is the standard one, is similar to a normal high-school maths curriculum. However, i think its great that the UK is offering those units for those that are interested. Theres even more spicy ones available, but i doubt a lot of schools even offer them.

I wish I did all subjects at A-level and went to an American style college where you do a mix of subjects before majoring.
