Consider 1/x as x tends to zero. There is an interval in which x is real and the quotient is always defined. There is an interval in which x is infinitesimal, and the quotient is transfinite.
There is always a smaller interval in which the quotient is even *more* infinite.
Doing the 1/0 will take you to the most infinite of infinities. A place where even the most based of mathematicians fall short.
Maybe the surreal numbers can solve the problem, but I think even that system can't solve it.
