I've been thinking about World Hunger and have wondered what your guys potential ideas are? I've had an answer brewing in my head for a while
Crops take a while and require extremely specific settings. Animals require extreme amounts of resources to keep alive and still take time to mature. This is why I think this solution is the best answer to our problems.
>Salamanders
The US Army says in a survival situations almost any reptile is edible. You can cook it almost any way you want: Fry, Boil, Grill. It's even kind of a culture icon. You've seen at least a cartoon or movie where a character visted some foreign country and they had lizards on a stick. Now, this doesn't mean you can eat them raw. All salamanders are poisonous, but you can still get around this by cooking them and cleaning them. The most important part about the salamander is it's tail. Salamanders can perfectly regrow their tail in as little as 30 days. On top of their tail they can also regrow limbs like arms and legs. We can gentically engineer Salamanders to not only be larger, but surely we can find ways to boost the regeneration rate. Not only would you be able to farm a food supply from one animals multiple times, but you can feed multiple people.
