>>12898350Maybe a bit, but I think a bit of it may very well also be that they're scared shitless that SpaceX are moving too fast for their own good and are gonna 737-MAX South Padre Island if they don't get them under control after SN8, which would be a failure for them as much as it would heavily impede SpaceX. They've apparently been very accommodating for SpaceX over the years, too (even if it doesn't look that way recently, from what I've read the advanced space systems group or whatever it's called really like SpaceX and all the nuspace companies and try to get shit done), and after the Boeing shitshow they have to make sure they don't look like they're not being careful enough. And that letter from those politicians doesn't help, I'm sure they don't want extra scrutiny either.
