The thing is, nobody can really tell you whether you're ready or not. Even in your position, I don't think it's as simple as saying "you have anxiety issues, don't. Deciding to pop a tab could be an expression of bravery which in and of itself would show that you've gotten better at dealing with fear and uncertainty. Or it could be a decision made out of fear: fear that the chance to do something you've always wanted to do is somehow slipping away, for instance. Coming to that conclusion during a trip would probably make for a really awful experience.
In fact, if you choose to trip then I think it's overwhelmingly likely that it will be an expression of both fear *and* bravery. You will likely entertain both thoughts during the trip, and that's just when you'll have to deal with them.
You can prepare mentally for an acid trip, but the funny thing is that you'd just be doing what you really want to do anyways: making friends, mending relationships with family, picking up a hobby you've always wanted to try, getting in shape like you've always wanted, whatever it is for you.
At the risk of giving you no information at all, whatever decision you take will be the right one simply because it will have been *yours*
