A Canticle For Leibowitz is probably my favorite sci-fi book. It's about a catholic monk living in a medieval-type society hundreds of years after a nuclear holocaust. It was the inspiration for the Fallout games.

The Red/Blue/Green Mars trilogy is good if you like super hard science-based sci-fi

That's sad. One of my friends is a news producer at a tv station in Virginia. She was inspired to go into journalism because of April O'Neil in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It's weird that people's paths through life can be determined by what tv show they watched on the electronic babysitter.

Travelling around a ringworld would be interesting : since the center of mass is a point in the vacuum of space all you would have to do to get into space is to negate the centrifugal force and gravity would pull you up.

Wasnt Lem explicitely against any more movie adaptations at some point because he hated all of them? Either way, other than those I only know of a Polish TV series adaptation of Pirx stories, a short film adaptation of Are You There, Mr Jones? and of course the DEFA adaptation of Astronauts, Der Schweigende Stern. Oh, and there was a short film based on The Mask

I agree, the nude scenes are as bolted on as the various anatomies. With skin texture and colour like worn out plastic it does not help the visuals.

The Alita franchise is nice.

And if we are in the Japanese section of the library, I must recommend Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou (YKK). Comfy. Pic. related.
