>>12888986i enjoy doing physics. every so often i come up with something and usually that is not when i get the rush of affirmation. usually i feel like an outcast autist during that phase (note: not autistic here)
but occasionally someone pays attention to what i do and sends some PhD students to steal it or work on it. or they want to write a paper about it. then i feel vindicated and based.
only then is my enjoyment rejuvenated. not totally though because i end up much more jaded but still i regain some enjoyment
