>>12888734>Is that true?probably yes
>>12888734>Is Britain going to be the major customer outside of the US?the world is gonna be the next customer, this will be bigger than GAFA, there's some aspects of it that are kind of underated. Internet connection is crucial to modern life, most important than other basic services even (less important than food &water, just as important as electricity which you could reduce to only the minimum needed to run a computer and above all other necesities. Either because they are monopolies, or because they can't compete most isp provider give off expensive shit service. Once you spam enough sats and the service is reliable you can provide coverage to some users even in cities because no matter how much the isp reduce their price they cant compete with the increidbly lean infrastructure of starship. So you get 100% of all rural and suburban clients and 50% of those in heavily populated areas.
lets do the math for the worst case scenario
8 billion people in the world
1/2 have access to internet
100% of them live in cities, we completely disregard rural users, so that would reduce the amount of users by another 1/2
we charge 10$ per month which is a price that would be cheap even for third world country, disregardind the fact that prices would be optimized
that's still 20 billion dollars per month
that's an income of 240 billion dollars per year, suppose that half of that is costs, which would be an absurbdly high figure, in profit.
that's roughly half an apollo program.
it would instantly become the most profitable company in existence, beating the oil company saudi aramco which in its greatest moment brings in like $80 billion per year but its tied to the price of oil unlike starlink.
now let's consider a more realistic statistic
8 billion people in the world
2/3 have an internet connection
of those only 1/3 will be lost to other isps
