(In undergrad) the math most Economics majors learn is too watered/dumbed down compared to what most STEM majors (except Biology) learn.

Even Computer Science which is mocked on /sci/ as being a brainlet major learn several times more Math than an average Economics major.

In STEM, only Biology fags learn less math than Economics fags.

Statistics is better. Statistics is the best major to learn the Math for Business imo.

No, we already have a major for that and it's called econometrics, and though it is not really considered STEM, it's the closest intersection of STEM with business/economics.

Grad econ requires being a math undergrad. You're supposed to have at least done Real Analysis if you want a shot at a decent program

its basically very niche applied mathematics and statistics
but im honestly quite shocked at how little econ master's/phds undestand basic probability theory - which in market microstructures and dynamics plays an extremely important role (hence why the most profitable trading firms don't ever hire econ folks).

t. Currently in a top 50 econ grad school and literally everyone in my class has a degree in either math or statistics. I myself double majored in econ and pure/applied math.

The economics involved in maths is fairly basic. Computational biology is a bit better. Meanwhile physics integrates concepts that are at the cutting edge of maths. (relativity is in the language of differential geometry for instance)

Economics Grad School (PhD) requires a lot more Math than Undergrad.

But the Math only get really hard

if you specialize in Econometrics
>(Mathematics and Data science applied to Economics).

If an Economist specialize in brainlet areas >closer to Management and farther to Econometrics
He probably won't see that much Math.
