Obviously retard. If it's based on inductive material variables foundationally for every experiment then it's science. It doesn't even have to be empirical, it could be rational to the degree Aristotle did physics.
I imagine every field can be represented in a universal field or a material field or sociological. Geography in a universal would probably just be metaphysics but in a material it's as it is. In sociological it may be whatever tf that would be.

Linguistics isn't purely concerned with a material representation and, of what I've picked up, they study sounds that are theoretically impossible or certainly impossible for man. They're concerned with grammar overall. These derive from their Linguistic axioms like logic etc.
Statistics can be used in any field. It doesn't make the field one way or another it just does a less well job at what the field wants
