>>12884539well just rest assured that however fast you fly, when you shoot some light out of your flashlight, you will see (or at least figure out somehow) that the light moves at a constant velocity. no matter how hard you try to run toward or away from it. it’s weird, for sure, but the reason is that time and space need to expand and shrink to keep the speed of light constant. the speed of light is more important in a way. so even though it seems weird, it is true that space and time shrink and dilate (sorry to have to use a pol meme word but this is independently a real word in physics) to keep the speed of light the same no matter how you move. however weird this may sound, the alternative is worse because it would imply you could know the future or you could send messages back in time. seriously.
