You're not supposed to remember everything you learn. You're supposed to be familiar enough with the concepts so that when you encounter issues in real life, you know you have a solution for that issue. Maybe you don't remember the formula, but you know that there is a formula to solve this type of problem. You have to look it up, but you wouldn't even know how to look this up had you not been familiar with it from your education.
