I have an idea to build a bridge that goes between spain and africa at the narrow gap (called straight of gibralter). i think that would be a cool idea because then you could ship stuff to africa without having to use the nile river (it got blocked recently by a boat).

i know boats carry a lot more than trucks but when you think about it trucks have to carry the boxes off the boats anyways so if you arent going over water theres no need for the boat in the first place.

as a result europe and africa and asia can keep shipping and trading stuff by connecting them with a bridge at the skinny part where they almost touch. then you just drive across africa to get to asia

my question is do you think this will be a good solution? does the science and numbers back it up?
