>>12883502>Is the media actually so fucking stupid that they happily mislead their for the sake of more government control?Media workers arent the brightest but I doubt thats the biggest problem. Im pretty sure its as simple as it can get - money runs everything. Somewhere up there, the director is told what to put on the show and what not. I dont think they are threatened to get fired, but its something they know will most likely happen if they disobey.
The people who run the news and entertainment shows, the directors and producers, earn a good amount of money and if delivering the people some terrible disinfo garbage is what needed to keep the job, they'll do it. Of course, for the people really in charge, all the money that goes into the media is small change.
>why the fuck people would actively work against their own well beingWell this has been happening all throughout history and the reasons are many. You always rather side with the authorities because that way you wont be punished (not lose your job, freedom), people do anything for some money, and you can't really stand up against the government, look what happens at riots. Big forces of police show up, spray you down with pepperspray and limit your movement, what can you really do? If you try to hurt a man in power youll be jailed (best case), and we all know from history that big figures that work against the governments tend to have "accidents" happen to them, so many dont bother standing up.
Its easier and safer to live under strict and immoral control than to rebel.
