He's a college professor talking about things that exist on the archeology journals but not exist on archeology books.

Basically there are certain filters to our knowledge. We can think of them as overarching paradigms. Studying something means classifying it according to the standards of current methodology. If somebody finds something that doesn’t fit into the overarching narrative he will likely ignore it, classify it as something fitting or come up with a new modified version of the overarching narrative. He won’t consider more likely other explanations. I just watched the first part.

I have wondered to what level we can truly understand very ancient human history. I have no experience with archeology though so I haven’t gone far on this issue, but things like Graham Handcock do interest me. What’s weird is that even by the current paradigm humans have been around for 200k years, but only since the end of the last ice age 12-13k year ago did we even bother to start agricultural practices and building actual communities/civilizations. What were we doing for the other ~187 thousand years? And in regards to epistemology, what can even be figured out about pre-ice age human society, if anything? There’s increasing evidence that there was in fact a comet impact that ended the ice age, and that coastal regions (aka former human settlement zones) got utterly destroyed by the floods that came. I try to stay skeptical but does seem to be to be pattern emerging to be taken serious, and it’s not surprising the current paradigm being protected against this pattern by the archeological establishment.

To play devils advocate, establish paradigm bros would say this is pseudoscience. What is the evidence and arguments to be made to maintain that Egypt society built up around a far older civilization? I’ll look into Cremo more in the meantime

From what I remember was that the end of the ice age caused people to not have agriculture, and some plants evolved with the end of the ice age to give us higher yields so civilizations weren't Hunter gathers, the carbon in the air was also much less

I haven’t heard of Graham Handcock. I was always a history buff amongst other things. Hard to believe, but I did manage to get my hands on a more than 1000 page book about the Second World War, when I was ten years old. I am not sure, what true boundaries are there to our potential knowledge, but I personally have investigated into some fields and things don’t add up. In my opinion there are people, who know this stuff, but suppress it. E.g. if we look at the time between 1800-1900 there all all kinds of strange things. The buildings at the world‘s fairs are insane. Huge stone buildings in classical style and hole cities of them allegedly build within months. Just to be destroyed after half a year. There are tons of newspaper reports about people meeting foreigners, who arrived on airships during the same time. Once you track sources you can see, how crazy things really are and how little evidence there is for the official narrative. Probably the Vatican and the Smithsonian are key to many of these questions. The university system is a huge block in the road too. It’s all about credentials and probably getting money from the same people, who want to keep the truth hidden.

Graham Hancock is a mixed bag. Some of the things he writes about are very interesting. Some of it though, particularly when he starts talking about numbers (angles, dimensions, proportions, etc) starts to sound schizo-tier. But I'd say most of his stuff is more level-headed.

Certainly interesting. Maybe I will look into his stuff. I‘m not afraid to be misled I check the sources on things that seem relevant to me. As a personal aside I wouldn’t be surprised, if this world was a much more magical place beyond our comprehension before. If I judge it from the perspective of, how much was evidently messed with the record and the narratives about it.

According to Wikipedia this guy is an "alternative researcher" and uni dropout, not a college professor. That puts his credentials about on par with the aliens guy.

The examples he gave of ancient human archeological finds were interesting to look into, though. He didn't list many, however, and as a cynic I'd say there's a good reason all of them were from the 1800s-1900s. If the "hundreds more of examples he could list for days" actually exist, and are listed somewhere online, those could be entertaining to look through.
