According to the platonic philosophy the world of mathematics exists, and we discover it. However I would prefer to say that mathematics doesn't really exist. It is not so that we open the door to a room, and you look into another room and so on. There is no door and there is no room. We create the door and we open it. We create the room and we look inside.

Math was invented in order to describe physics.
It was the necessary vessel to communicate the study of physical things and quantify extension.

Correct. Math is a trial-and-error metaphysical model that describes our relationship with "reality." Except, there is no reality, just the model we make as we walk forward.

Rules are not actual or universal because if the rule or model stops producing accurate results, then we simply change the rule or model, thus changing "reality."

Nah. The reason is that the base and the things you can do with it are arbitrary. Imagine that you wipe all life on earth and then it evolves again after a while. Will the dinosaurs (yes, they'll be reptiles) that replace us "discover" the exact same math we do? Maybe their system will be base Pi, and every single one of our natural numbers would be irrational. And then they would develop their Pi based math enough to solve problems that we can't because we don't know the exact value of Pi, but they would have other problems that we can't even fathom. Can you really say that math is a thing to be "discovered" if every time they "discover" it is different? TLDR: Fuck you.

it's our invention in an attempt to model the natural world. It seems to be pretty good at it.
But because it tries to model the natural world, it also ends up reflecting the parts of the natural world in terms of numbers.
So in away, it is a discovery when the numbers correlate with what is occurring natural.
But the patterns identified are described through our inventions, numbers, syntax, words etc.
