Could one use a small laser-driven wakefield accelerator such as the one detailed in this article as an alternative muon source for muon-catalyzed fusion?
If so, could this be a path to fusion power with sufficient refinement?

I have all the supplies I need to make a mode-locked ti:sapphire laser, which means I already have one of the most difficult-to-obtain pieces of equipment needed for this apparatus, aside from a bunch of tritium and deuterium.
