If we're proof that intelligent life can exist and the universe is old enough to spawn multiple intelligent lifeforms then why don't we see any proof of this when we do astronomy?

Radio transmission for communication between stars is an absolute fucking MEME and SETI is one of the biggest grifter scams in all of scientific history. Radio signals become pathetically weak only a handful of light years away from their original emission. There is no paradox because using radio is stupid as fuck, of course we haven’t heard anything.

Here is my theory: Life regularly evolves and regularly develops into intelligent life which then forms a developing civilization.
This happens regularly but still rarely, so it is likely that in any one galaxy only every 10 million or so years a civilization emerges.
At some point this civilization is advamced enough to become intetionally or unintentionally detectable by emmiting EM signals.
Due to the exponential nature lf technological progress, however, from this point on it only takes them like 1000 years to start colonizing the galaxy at a rapid rate. By shooting out essentially Von Neumann probes they can in fact spread out over the galaxy at a speed measured in c. So maybe 0.5c or even 0.9c
At this point the answer to the Fermi Paradox is then that it is unlikely for a two civilizations to emerge both close enough in space AND time to eachother that they could detect one another, since it is likely that one will have colonized the other one long before they even become an intelligent life form.
In other words if we could see the aliens then that'd be most likely because they already colonized earth long ago.

A visual analogy should be the following: Consider the galaxy to be a petri dish in which bacterial colonies are placed at certain points. The traditional picture is that several bacterial populations would inhabit the petri dish simultaneously and clmpete with eachother.
But the reality is more like this: A scientist places a new population at a random spot in the petrish dish in random but long intervals - like about a week inbetween each.
The first colony which doesnt die off quickly will just spread out over the whole petri dish before the second one is even placed.

This also means that the absence of detectbale aliens suggests we are the first advanced civilization in our galaxy and the only one to ever inhabit it.
But I am neglecting intergalactic travel here.
