The virus doesn’t survive in food. Take the food out of the packaging, throw out the package then wash your hands. If you want to be extra careful heat the food to 70c for 5 mins before eating it. Even without these precautions the risk is very low. Technically not zero but it’s the same risk as driving on a highway.

Surface transmission of covid is basically nonexistent. You'd have to touch the packaging in the exact same spot that an infected cook or expo worker touched with their bare hands and then stick that finger in your mouth or something like that.

Has there been a single documented case of covid from surface contact anywhere in the world? The only one I can think of was a suggestion that covid got into New Zealand in a package of frozen vegetable but there was never any proof, it was a guess to explain a covid infection of unknown origin (probably the infected lying or misremembering who they'd been around).

the real problem with restaurant food of any kind is that it's all cooked in unhealthy seed oils which throw your omega 6: omega 3 ratios way off. some estimate the western diet may be anywhere from 20:1 to 7:1, high in omega 6. a higher ratio of omega 6 to 3 has been linked to increased inflammation in tissue and a potential driver of coronary heart disease. ask your favorite restaurant what oil it uses and opt for saturated animal fats. or start cooking your own meals.
