how were classes divided in you school?
how were the work groups divided in your class?

the reason im asking this is because i had a really frustating time in school with group projects: i had to do all by myself but sometimes the teacher would take points out of students like me if he found out only one was doing all the work so i had to bribe my peers for them to just read the summed stuff i wrote.
it wasnt until the final years i made some friends who either had a minimal of interest or just made an effort for our friendship
i was wondering if things could have been different, if anyone tried to divide classes by test results, but only found about groups being divided inside the same class and some reinforcemeents for those who needed some extra help out of class. i want to know what would happen if you let students be divided and moved up and down through classes through the year depending on the grades.
