>>12874327>I noticed that almost any researcher is specialised in a very small scientific niche in their field.Because the entire field has become too massive for one person to understand, not to mention having mastery of multiple fields.
Nowadays, if you are "interdisciplinary", it just means you have surface level knowledge in those subjects, nothing more. True interdisciplinary research requires a team of different researchers.
>Do you think someone could be able to do research in various fileds, employing a multi-disciplinary approach, and not just hyperspecialise in something?Today, I think not even a super genius could master all of one field, not to mention multiple fields, as said previously.
>Could I manage to publish in different fields?Unlikely, unless what you refer to as "fields" is actually subfields. If you really want to do interdisciplinary research:
1) fin a subfield (or even a sub-subfield) that is frequently involved in research articles on interdisciplinary subjects
2) specialize in that subfield (or sub-subfield)
3) find collaborators in different subfields that can complement your capabilities on the interdisciplinary level
4) do interdisciplinary research with your newly found team
